Chris Shkreli

Chris is a former High School and Collegiate Athlete in multiple sports, including football, baseball, crew, and diving. Competition has always played a large role in Chris’ life, and it was his love of sport and competition that gravitated him towards CrossFit and the fitness industry. Chris has been working in the industry for over 15 years in both personal training and group class settings. He has a passion for never being complacent and continues learning how to be a better athlete, a better coach, and a better trainer overall. Adapting the motto “Community Over Competition” has taken Chris’ love for the industry to new heights. It has helped him to remember that the number one focus should always be his clients, their goals, and their successes above everything else. When the community succeeds, we all benefit and share in that joy.

Alex Jones

Owner/Coach

Alex is a passionate health and fitness enthusiast. Growing up playing nearly every sport available to him, he began to put most of his focus into baseball until an elbow injury ended his career. Graduating the University of Toledo with his Bachelor’s in Biology to pursue a career in Pharmacy, he’d never lost the competitive drive that team sports had instilled in him and knew he’d make his way back into the sport/fitness space in some capacity. After being introduced to functional fitness in 2019, he was immediately hooked. Realizing the missing link in his life, he jumped head first into the methodology and received his CrossFit L1 Certification. Now he is a local and team CrossFit competitor, most notably in Team Division at Wodapalooza in 2020. Even more, than competing, Alex loves to teach, coach, and connect with people and the ‘why’ – honing in on their deeper motivations at the gym and encouraging people to become the best version of themselves possible. If you are an athlete that enjoys mindset and psychology, Coach Alex is the coach for you.

Sam Cohen

Nutrition & Wellness

Sam is a health, fitness, and nutrition coach passionate about helping people reach their goals and live longer, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. With a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Sam has a strong foundation in exercise science, anatomy, and physiology. In addition to her degree, Sam holds certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and is a Certified Sports Nutrition Coach. Her knowledge and expertise in both exercise and nutrition enable her to provide a well-rounded approach to her coaching, with a focus on helping her clients achieve their desired results. Currently, Sam is finishing up her Master’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, which will qualify her to become a registered dietitian. This advanced education will further enhance her ability to support her clients in achieving their health and wellness goals by providing individualized nutrition plans tailored to their unique needs and lifestyle.

Steve Swistak

Steve is a renowned former Team USA weightlifting competitor, Olympic weightlifting coach, and 3x CrossFit Games masters athlete. Swistak has worked with and trained youth athletes for the past ten (10) years. He has worked closely with the Briarcliff Lacrosse program for both boys and girls over the last seven (7) years. His athletes have seen success throughout all endeavors, and Swistak has played an integral part in providing these athletes with top-notch training which has helped to breed a culture of continued success. Swistak has seen many of his athletes in Olympic weightlifting reach the podium at competitions and his high school athletes continue to the collegiate level. All of his athletes have credited Swistak with helping to prepare them for the rigors of high-level competitive training.

Jess Wilson

Jess started her fitness journey when she was tired of feeling uncomfortable in her body ten years ago. She went from having absolutely no physical activity to the complete opposite. Jess was the person that counted calories and was adamant about burning more than what she consumed with hours of cardio and no strength training because it was intimidating, and she didn’t want to look “manly.” She was obsessed with the number on the scale and had to hit that specific number to be in a comfortable spot, or she felt fat. Jess started to learn about BMR, caloric surplus and deficit, macros, and how weight training tied into that. She began to understand that building muscle was helping her long-term goals, not only with how her body transformed but what she could do and the increase in energy she now had. Jess realized most people are in the same mindset she once was, wondering where to start. But, since becoming a personal trainer, Jess has learned so much more about fitness from others and has watched clients transform and reach goals they never thought possible.
